SENIOR WELLNESS PROFILES
Preventative health care is the best approach to help keep our pets well into their senior years. We all wish for our pets to have a good quality of life for as long as possible. As a result we recommend: 1) A physical exam at least once or twice yearly. 2) Vaccinations and parasite control tailored to your pet. 3) a senior wellness profile annually when your pet is age 8 or older for cats, age 7 or older for small and medium dogs, age 6 or older for large or giant dogs.
Routine physical exams help in early detection of health problems associated with geriatric pets. Metabolic diseases such as diabetes, kidney and liver disease become more prevalent, as well as heart, respiratory and dental disease and sometimes these are only detectable by blood and urine tests. Cancers of all forms also become more common.
For a limited time we are offering a SPECIAL PRICE on senior wellness profiles. There are two types to choose from, Basic and Comprehensive. The "Basic" profile includes a blood count, liver and kidney tests, blood sugar level, total protein, and a partial urinalysis for $108.00 (a $178.00 value). The "Comprehensive" package includes a complete blood count, liver and kidney tests, checks blood sugar levels, total protein thyroid test, electrolytes, as well as a complete urinalysis. This package is $151.00 (a $302.00 value).
STAFF UPDATE
We would like to welcome Megan to our Pine Ridge family. Megan graduated from St. Lawrence College, Kingston in June of 2008 as a Veterinary Technician and is working both reception on the front desk and as a technician in the back. Glad to have you on board Megan.
